Yesterday's inauguration event was presided over by Dilum Amunugama, the state minister of transportation.
Every day, the train will run between Kandy and Demodara at 7 a.m. and between Demodara and Kandy at 3.40 p.m. and 9.45 p.m.
The class S14 powerset-equipped train contains 144 second-class seats and 176 AC first-class seats.
